The many faces of a budding supermodel. She may have the face for it but she is not an actress. Movies will be missing out on her dramatic flair.

Shark bite and Puppy Dog
Nice view of her shark(Lily) bite!
Fun times at Kevin's cookout with Ryan, Jen and a cute little puppy. Mattea likes dogs and you can tell she wants to touch them and play with them but she is very scared of them. Most of the dogs at Kevin's house Mattea could sit on but she was still scared. So we did some therapy and tried getting her used to petting and playing with the littlest one (in the pics). She was only about a pound and was very sweet and we actually got her to hold the puppy.

Rock Band
At the party-I can vouch for Jen and Lana about alcohol consumption but I don't know about Steph!!
Jen, Mattea, and I playing Guitar Hero at my double qincenera-Mattea even has her own avatar*****MJ*****a kickass drummer with tats and everything a mother could be proud of!!
A few weeks ago we had a rock band party (sad to say but i'm addicted to the game). We had such a good time. I suck at drums, Dad was right I don't have nearly enough rhythm, but I do pretty good on bass and lyrics. I think I had 96% while singing Bon Jovi's Dead or Alive, Lana's favorite song that I made her play over again. Just so you know Lana, we will play that song forever until you can get some other Bon Jovi songs, or Aerosmith. Not some out there obscur rock songs that I have never heard of ;-)
Haircut
This was not Mattea's 1st haircut but it was very much needed. I decided I didn't want to spend the money for Cookie Cutters yet so I took matters into my own hands and cut it myself. I think I did an ok job for my 1st time and with a wiggly 1-year-old. Thanks to our dancing chicken, in the pics above, which kept her entertained. I did have to do some touching up a couple days later when I realized just how uneven I had cut the back. But, all is well and luckily she has no clue what is a good or bad haircut, yet!!!

Best Friends
I am also very proud of how much empathy my daughter has for others, especially Lily. When Lily cries Mattea will go over to her and will rub her back and pat her bottom just like us adults. It is so stinkin sweet. Mattea and Lily now apoligize to each other when they have hurt one another. This morning I made them say sorry and they said sorry to each other and gave a hug. It was cute and genuine-I wonder how long that will last before they start grumbling it to each other.
Lastly, since they are best friends and partners in crime it was real funny to see Mattea giving Lily a hand up onto the couch that they are not supposed to be playing on. Mattea had climbed up and Lily couldn't get it so Mattea reached out her hand and helped Lily up.

Good Day!
So Mattea was tested for her possible peanut allergy today and thankfully it came back negative. So Mom was right again and Mattea was just being dramatic and keeping me on my toes. For the 1st time I'm glad mom was right. The allergist told me that my pediatrician probably wanted to tell me to go home and feed her a PB&J and see what happens, but felt she should not risk Mattea going to the ER. I laughed and said that I had the same thought. Anyways all is well!
We all know Mattea is a woman of many talents. She is a flygirl for Charlie and the Dirty Diapers band, a synchronized swimmer, and occassional pickpocket (not my proudest moments). But now we can add preacher to the list. Angi, Charlie, and Lily come from a family of strong faith including church and prayers. Mattea on the other hand is not. Me and my parents are not religious, not even too spiritual, so it is real funny what Mattea now does during meals. She and Lily have started this thing where they drop everything halfway through the meal and decide it is now time for prayer. They hold out their hands and Mattea starts chanting "Amen, Amen, Amen" until someone grabs their hands and says a prayer. Super cute, that is until we have to do it several times throughout the meal. Over lunch today it was 3 or 4 times. The girls love it and who can resist holding hands with 2 cutie-pies chanting "Amen" in their cute little voices. Dad said with Mattea's prominent voice and expressive face she may just become a preacher. I, on the other hand, am reminded of the sleazy guy from Shepard of Faith that came to speak to us at QMG several years ago. If you work with me you know who I'm talking about and why that is slighty scary and humorous at the same time.

Busy Week
I've had a great week. Two movies, Swingvote and Mama Mia, and a nearly perfect weekend with Mattea. She has been so pleasant and fun to be around, a slight change from the week before. Anyways we are still looking for a new place to live and I am feeling slightly pressured. Buying a home feels like such a bigger responsibility then raising Mattea. I hate to say it but I think it is because you have to be "approved." While you should be "approved" for parenthood that is not the case. Mattea has her appointment with her allergist on Tuesday to check for a peanut allergy. I'm hoping it is a peanut intolerance if anything, but thinks good thoughts for us.
