Bed News, Good News

So, most know but my house was broken into for a 3rd time. I have decided I am not going back but am stepping up and going for the plunge and hopefully buying a home. The search for a home is even more difficult now since I have to focus on school district, good neighborhoods, family and all the things that will be important to Mattea and her future.

Sleepy Girl

I love this picture!!! I think it is the cutest thing when kids fall asleep and their pacifiers (Mattea's nu-nu) are just barely hanging there. Mattea also rarely has the "angel" sleep face, she almost always looks kinda like she's upset. Like she is involved in a very intense dream. Maybe she dreams about saving the world one baby at a time. Or, perhaps on a more realistic note, she is calculating mathmatical equations!

I was getting ready for work this morning and Mattea was thankfully entertaining herself for a few glorious minutes. What was she doing you ask. Well my genius daughter was scooting around on her belly on the kitchen floor laughing hysterically. I just stared at her thinking 1. what the hell is so funny 2. the kitchen floor is getting a good buff from Mattea's nice clean shirt and 3. i'm so happy that she is playing by herself rather then begging me to read a book while I'm trying to tie my shoes or pull up my pants.

Everyone tells you how you no longer do things by yourself once you have a child. They don't lie. I have a little helper to brush my hair, change my clothes, go to the bathroom and my favorite...take a shower! I freeze through every shower now but I wouldn't change it for the world.

My 1st time

Hi Everybody...this is my first time writing on this blog. I was asked to start a blog (everybody's doing it). I was slow to get it started but hopefully will be able to keep up. I have some really cute pics to show off but bear with me.

Mattea and I had a good weekend, minus the puke. On Friday she had a playdate and then came to visit me at work. She was great considering she hadn't slept much. Unfortunately she was not interested in sleep the rest of the night because she wouldn't go to sleep until midnight and woke promptly at 7am. On Sat my college friend came to visit with her son Jace who is 2. Mattea, Lily and Jace played and it was fun catching up with Kyndra. Mattea seemed to have a upset tummy all day and finally after dinner when we were playing with bubbles she stuck the wand in her mouth and sucked on the bubble juice. This was a blessing in disguise because while she did throwup, she was instantly and much happier girl and went to bed early.

On Sunday we took my mom to lunch for her birthday 5/14 even though she says she doesn't celebrate her birthdays anymore. We had fun and Mattea was definately making up for not eating well on Sat. and saying hi to everybody. She is a very friendly baby, if your a woman. All in all a great weekend!!!
